DORMS
They all had the same plastic mattress bunk beds and wooden cabinets, but each room was its own little world! Behind each door was an expression of the person who resided in there. I loved to visit Matt Kleiber and Adam Reidy's room, it was a crazy little zen hangout where you could have your fortune read. Toni Shutts had two cats, Sissy and Sassy, who lived with her unbeknownst to the staff, until one cat accidentaly jumped into the wrong window. Steve Blaha and Chad Pratt lived at the far end of the mens dorm. Big Daddy's room had posters of his favorite wrestlers. My room was decorated with vines, dried flowers in old bottles, anything I could find in the woods, because, let's face it, we weren't rich. Other rooms were smelly with dirty clothes and pizza boxes crammed under the bed. Because of this, the supervisors started having room inspections before roll call each day. There were a few smelly dirty people there too. I can remember more than one occasion a gang of guys hogtying some smelly dude and forcing him into the shower. Guys like Mad Dog and Puppy. I also remember people would steal someone's clothes while they were in the shower so they'd have to come out wearing only a shower curtain!  The mens dorm bathroom could get pretty funky and I recall making a poster to tack up in the mens bathroom stalls. It was an instructional poster on how to flush a toilet, complete with diagrams.  We were always fighting over the washing machines and the payphone. Ahh, memories!!!!
Brian Mercier at peace in his room with Rick Riddlebarger and Josh Stone. I loved the shelf that defied gravity.
Jen Forby tackling Mark Corby  in front of the girls dorm.
Ebony amd Ivory.....Dennis Miller trying to kiss Carnecia Martin, in my dorm room with Bruce Trammel and Jenny Carmen laughing.
William McDonald taking a break in the mens dorm. I remember when they put up this wood paneling and enclosed the intersection of the hallways to make a TV room and the state surplus furniture. I guess it was a plan to improve the place so people would take pride in it and treat it nicer.
Doug Carr busy replacing windows in the mens dorm. There wasn't air conditioning, you'd just prop your window open with a stick or whatever.
